Project Work

We are able to assist third party pension administrators and pension scheme managers with the resourcing and management of either short or long term projects.

If appropriate, work will be done by qualified actuaries or members of the Pensions Management Institute.  Work can be carried out on or off site, depending on your needs.

We can charge for work on either a time cost basis or on a piece work basis.  The advantage of the latter approach is that you have a degree of certainty as regards your costs.

Examples of projects we have carried out are:

• Benchmarking of administration costs;
• Calculating transfer payments for bulk transfer exercises;
• Reviewing historic paper files to extract information in preparation for a bulk buy out of liabilities;
• Auditing calculations to check compliance with the scheme's documentation;
• Specifying benefit calculations to allow for their computerisation;
• Maintaining Statutory Money Purchase Illustration calculations and checking benchmark calculations for testing purposes;
• Advising on how to comply with "anti-franking" and other relevent pension legislation.

To avoid unnecessary expense and duplication of costs, we will work constructively with the scheme's existing advisors, using information provided by them whenever this is possible.
